The business experienced continuous growth and expansion through the years. In 1978, Tom Byars joined the family business to work in the newly established real estate department. ERA Byars Realty is now owned by Tom and his wife, Carol.  Tom serves as the qualifying broker and Carol is the Associate Broker/Office Manager.

ERA Byars Realty is the oldest continuous full-service real estate company in Jasper, as well as one of the largest in Walker County. Byars offers residential and commercial real estate sales, rentals, property management, national relocation service and home warranties. ERA Byars Realty is now located in its own office complex which it shares with Byars & Associates in downtown Jasper.
